Information unaudited Information ungeprüftThe powerhouse for external asset managers

Hendrik Breitenstein, Head of External Asset Managers at LLB in Liechtenstein, provides insight into the strategic development of the LLB Groupʼs EAM Powerhouse. Driven by passion, dedicated employees, and fresh ideas, a dynamic centre for external asset managers has emerged.

Mr Breitenstein, what is the idea behind the EAM Powerhouse?

Following the successful establishment of the Fund Powerhouse , it was a logical step to apply this approach to the business with external asset managers (EAMs). External asset managers serve their own end clients and require a bank or custodian bank for account management. This creates a triangular relationship between the asset manager, the end client, and LLB. The goal was to develop a standardised and efficient platform that operates across borders while integrating both innovative and proven solutions.

What makes the EAM Powerhouse special?

A well-thought-out concept built on three central pillars: digital efficiency, personal service, and regulatory security. Its foundation is a stable and reliable framework, drawing on LLBʼs more than 160 years of experience. Digital interfaces, a specially developed online banking system, and a dedicated team of advisors ensure that external asset managers receive optimal support.

A key feature is the specially developed digital onboarding tool, which enables fast and secure account opening in LLB Online Banking. To ensure maximum stability and security, we rely exclusively on LLBʼs internal systems.

“By maintaining close relationships with our clients, we identify changing needs at an early stage and implement them effectively.”

By maintaining close relationships with our clients and continuously optimising our processes, we identify changing needs at an early stage and implement them effectively. Our goal is not just to meet expectations but to consistently exceed them.

Which regions does the EAM Powerhouse cover?

Our locations in Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany collaborate under the umbrella of the EAM Powerhouse. We are actively represented in business associations across these regions and maintain regular exchanges to strengthen our pioneering position in the business with external asset managers.

What can we look forward to in future?

The EAM Powerhouse now stands – but just like building a house, completion is not the end of the story. The interior design and optimisations continue. In addition to digital onboarding solutions, we now offer our clients the LLB relocation service for asset managers.

We understand that our asset managers also strive to optimise their processes and become leaner and more modern, whether in data transmission or professional exchanges with their client advisors. With the LLB relocation service, we make it easy for end clients to transition from an external custodian bank to the EAM Powerhouse. We handle the complex aspects of the move, particularly recording client data at the asset managerʼs location, and work closely with key departments such as Compliance, Tax, and Cross-border to ensure a seamless transition. This allows our asset managers to focus entirely on their core competence – asset management.
