Information unaudited Information ungeprüftLLB Group with strong interim business result
Dear shareholders
Security and stability have always been crucial factors influencing LLB’s corporate philosophy and business approach. That we have lived up to these aspirations was confirmed in April 2026 by Moody’s, the independent rating agency, which raised our deposits rating from Aa2 to Aa1, the second highest rating possible. We are therefore among the top group of banks assessed by Moody’s worldwide and now have the highest rating in Liechtenstein. Aa1 stands for a very high level of financial security and stability. This accolade fills us with great pleasure and pride. It is a strong sign of trust and reaffirms our ambition to be one of the most trustworthy banks in the world.
In the first half of 2026, we attained important strategic and operative milestones.
Strong result, solid capital basis
In the first half of 2026, the LLB Group earned a net profit of CHF 105.0 million (first half of 2025: CHF 91.0 million), an increase of 15.3 per cent. This was attributable to a very positive business development coupled with higher earnings and lower expenses.
Operating income stood at CHF 315.5 million, 0.9 per cent higher than in the first half of 2025. This increase was driven by fee and commission income, which rose by 5.9 percent. Operating expenses were reduced by 6.8 per cent to CHF 190.6 million. This was largely due to the omission of the integration costs for ZKB Österreich, which had added substantially to expenses in the equivalent period in the previous year, as well as lower personnel costs thanks to successfully realised synergies. Accordingly, the Cost Income Ratio improved to 59.5 per cent (first half of 2025: 65.7 %), therefore well within our strategic target range of maximum 65 per cent.
The Group’s business growth continued with the business volume exceeding 130 billion francs for the first time (CHF 132.1 billion; 31.12.2025: CHF 125.9 billion). Client assets under administration also reached CHF 115.0 billion, the highest level in LLB’s 165-year history. Net new money inflow amounted to CHF 2.2 billion. Both market divisions (Retail and Corporate Banking and International Wealth Management) as well as all three booking centres (in Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Austria) contributed to this success. At CHF 211.0 million, net new loans also registered positive growth.
With a Tier 1 ratio of 18.5 per cent, the LLB Group continues to have a very solid capital basis.
Strategy successfully on course
In the first half of 2026, we also made significant progress in implementing our ACT-26 strategy with important objectives being attained in our core elements of efficiency, growth and sustainability.
In the completion phase of ACT-26, particular attention will be paid to efficiency. We have realised further synergies and driven forward the digitalisation and automation of our processes across the entire Group. This strengthens our cost efficiency whilst also improving our service quality. One example of this is the successful integration and migration of the former ZKB Österreich. In spite of taking over around 100 employees, our total headcount decreased. In addition, our clients benefit from new, attractive products and services.
Our business developed successfully as planned in our growth markets of Germany and Austria. While we continued to expand our business presence in Germany, in Austria the takeover of ZKB Österreich strengthened our position as the country’s leading wealth management bank. In Switzerland too, our business areas made pleasing progress. Our clients appreciate the way we combine digital flexibility with personal advisory services to provide them with bespoke offers.
An important milestone was set in the first half of 2026 with the setting up of the “Liechtensteinisches Pfandbriefinstitut” (mortgage bond institute) together with LGT. This enables us to enhance stability of the financial centre and expand refinancing possibilities. Another historical step was taken at the beginning of April with the launch of the very first Liechtenstein mortgage bond issue. Investors made subscriptions totalling CHF 250 million, a clear affirmation investors‘ trust in LLB and the Liechtenstein financial centre.
For LLB, sustainability means much more than merely fulfilling regulatory requirements; it has been an integral part of our identity and an expression of our long-term business approach for 165 years. In addition to ecological issues, our social responsibility and support for future generations are the main focus. For example, with initiatives such as our zero percent energy mortgage, Environmental Day and Olympic Day, together with our partners and employees, we generated tangible added value for society and the environment in the first half of 2026. For us, sustainability means taking responsibility, remaining true to our regional ties and planning for the long term.
Final phase of ACT-26
After four and a half years, the realisation of our ACT-26 strategy has entered the final phase. Shortly before the final stretch, we can draw a very positive conclusion: we have achieved all our ambitious targets, we have successfully grown, and today we are more efficient, innovative and sustainable than five years ago. All of which shows that ACT-26 has been effective; thanks to this strategy, we have in place an excellent basis for our future.
Outlook
The challenging market environment is expected to persist in the second half of 2026. The LLB Group is well prepared to meet and master this situation. We expect to achieve a solid business result for the full 2026 year.
We will successfully complete the ACT-26 strategy on schedule while working in parallel on the succession strategy, which will be presented in the second half of September. In this way, we are ensuring our continued business development, while exploiting new opportunities and preparing for future challenges.
Thank you for your trust

Yours sincerely
